European companions in Dubai
European companions in Dubai are overwhelmingly here for work — finance, aviation, law, architecture, hospitality — and the listings reflect that mix of nationalities and languages. If you want someone who will be entirely unremarkable at a corporate dinner, this is the page.

A working population, not a visiting one
The European presence in Dubai is built around employment contracts rather than tourism. That produces a particular kind of resident: professionally settled, used to an international office, fluent in the social grammar of business dinners and company functions. For an evening where the other people in the room are colleagues or clients, that familiarity does a lot of quiet work.
Many countries, many languages
This page covers a continent, so the listings vary enormously. French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Polish, Romanian and Greek all appear across the directory, usually alongside fluent English. Where your evening involves visitors from a particular country, the right second language is worth filtering for — the language pages exist for exactly that.
Where the evening tends to go
The DIFC, Downtown and City Walk hold the formal end; the Marina, JLT and Jumeirah the relaxed one. Al Quoz and Alserkal attract the part of the community more interested in galleries than hotel bars. European residents tend to know which restaurants are actually good rather than which are famous, which is a more useful thing to know in this city than it sounds.
Verified before listing
Each person on this page recorded a short video on this site, which a moderator compared against her photographs before the listing was published. The tick means the photographs show her. It is not a reference and does not pretend to be.
Dress, register and the room
Dubai reads clothing more carefully than most European cities do, and the register shifts sharply between venues. A hotel restaurant in the DIFC, a beach club on the Palm and a gallery evening in Al Quoz run on three different codes, and getting it wrong is the sort of small error that sits uncomfortably for the rest of the night. Someone who has worked here for a few years calibrates this without thinking about it. If you are visiting and genuinely unsure what an occasion calls for, it is a reasonable and unembarrassing thing to ask about in advance.
