Tamil-speaking companions in Dubai
Tamil is spoken across Dubai's South Indian and Sri Lankan communities, in trade, hospitality, construction and the professions. Like Malayalam, it is unrelated to Hindi and covers rooms that Hindi does not.

Two countries, one language
Tamil speakers in Dubai come from Tamil Nadu and from Sri Lanka, and the two communities are distinct in history and often in circumstance while sharing the language. That makes this a broader filter than a page about a single nationality would be, and it is worth reading the individual listings rather than assuming the label describes one group.
Where it is the working language
Tamil is widely spoken through Dubai's trade, transport and hospitality workforce, and in parts of the older commercial districts it is the language that business actually happens in. Karama and Bur Dubai again, along with the markets. An evening that touches any of that runs more easily with a Tamil speaker than without one.
Distinct from Hindi and from Malayalam
A common assumption worth correcting: India's languages are not dialects of one another. Tamil is not intelligible to a Hindi speaker or to a Malayalam speaker. If your evening specifically involves Tamil-speaking family or colleagues, Hindi will not cover it, and this is the page that will.
Food and occasion
South Indian cooking in Dubai is both excellent and cheap, concentrated in the older districts in places that have been running for decades. For family occasions, weddings and visiting relatives from Chennai or Colombo, the language stops being a convenience and becomes the thing that makes the evening work at all.
What the tick confirms
No listing on this page was published until a short video recorded on this site had been checked by a moderator against the person's photographs. It confirms the photographs show her, and claims nothing beyond that.
What else usually appears alongside
Tamil speakers in this directory commonly list English and often Malayalam, Hindi or Sinhala depending on where they grew up and what their work requires. Sri Lankan Tamils in particular may handle Sinhala as well. That range matters on a page covering two countries, and the individual listings are where it is set out rather than guessed at.
